Remember how I told you I was going to South Africa?
As it turns out, it looks like I might have been dreaming: it looks right now like the South Africa trip is off. Apparently, several Nobel Laureates are boycotting the idea of a Summit and South Africa and the Nobel Committee Secretariat is trying to reschedule the Summit to Rome. However, since many young adults and such had already bought their tickets to South Africa, couldn’t refund them, and we were partially going for the program the Youth Delegation was planning, our trip coordinator isn’t sure if we’d follow the Summit to Rome. I.e. we’d just stay home.
I personally cannot believe this kind of inefficiency. If you wanted to change the locale, do it more than two weeks before the thing happens! It’s so super lame and I hope the Secretariat or whomever decides to move it back to South Africa and we can go.
